Frequently Asked Questions
Planning a wedding comes with tons of questions, but don't worry—I’m here to help. I'm a fun-loving London wedding photographer (covering weddings across the UK and beyond) with a relaxed, documentary approach, and I’ve pretty much heard it all! Below you’ll find answers to some of the questions I get asked most often. If you don’t see your question here, just let me know. I want you to feel totally at ease, so ask away – I’m always happy to help.
HOW DO WE BOOK?
It’s simple! All dates are booked on a first-come, first-served basis (my calendar can fill up fast in peak season). To secure your date, you’ll need to do two things:
- Sign a contract: This ensures we’re both on the same page about the details.
- Pay a 50% deposit: A non-refundable deposit secures the day (the remaining balance is due 7 days before your wedding).
Once those steps are done, boom, your date is officially reserved! If you're ready, let's get your date locked in – simply get in touch to make it official. I can’t wait to capture your big day!
HOW MANY IMAGES WILL WE GET?
I don’t set an exact limit on the number of photos, but couples typically receive anywhere from 150 up to 500+ images for a full-day wedding. The final count varies because every celebration is different. For example, the total number of images depends on:
- Length of coverage: A longer wedding day means more moments to capture.
- Events and activities: If you have multiple events (ceremony, speeches, first dance, cake cutting, etc.), there will be more photos.
- Second photographer: If you add a second shooter for extra coverage, you'll get additional images from different angles.
Here’s the big thing to remember: I focus on quality storytelling, not just quantity. Whether it ends up being 200 photos or 600, you’ll never feel like any part of your day is missing. My goal is to capture all the important moments of your wedding beautifully and comprehensively, so you can relive your story over and over.
CAN WE SHARE MY GALLERY LINK WITH FAMILY AND FRIENDS?
Absolutely! I deliver all your images in a private online gallery, and you’re welcome to share that gallery link with all your family and friends. Your loved ones will be able to view, download, and even order prints of the photos directly from the gallery. It’s a fantastic way for everyone to enjoy the memories without you having to send out individual files.
Feel free to post the gallery on Facebook, email it out, or text it around—whatever works for you. It’s your gallery to share, and it makes spreading the joy super easy for everyone. (Easy, right?)
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO RECEIVE OUR ONLINE GALLERY?
I know you’ll be excited to see your photos! I typically deliver your fully edited online gallery within 4 weeks of your wedding day. I personally cull and hand-edit every image (to make sure each one is perfect and true to my style), so this timeframe ensures I can give your photos the TLC they deserve.
If you need your photos sooner, I do offer a priority editing service for an additional fee. Just let me know in advance if a quick turnaround is important to you, and I can expedite the editing process. Either way, I’ll keep you posted, and I promise the wait will be worth it when you get to relive your day through the images!
WILL YOU CUSTOMISE A PACKAGE FOR US?
For sure! Every wedding is unique, and I believe your photography package should be too. Whether you’re planning a grand all-day affair, an intimate elopement, or something totally offbeat, I’m happy to tailor a package that fits your needs. We can adjust coverage hours, add a second photographer, include an engagement shoot—whatever matters most to you.
You can check out my Wedding Packages & Pricing page for a general idea of my standard packages. From there, let’s chat and create the perfect package for your day. I’m flexible and excited to craft something just right for you!
DO YOU CHARGE OVERTIME?
I do have an overtime rate if I end up staying beyond the coverage hours in your package. Currently, it’s £150 per additional hour of coverage. That said, don’t worry if things run slightly behind schedule—I totally understand that weddings can have unexpected delays, and I’m not going to vanish the second the clock strikes the end of our booked time.
My priority is keeping your day stress-free. If we’re running a bit late, I’ll check with you before officially adding any overtime. I’ll always be flexible to make sure I capture all the important moments, and we can settle any extra coverage once things have wound down. No surprises here, just communication and going with the flow!
WHAT HAPPENS IF YOU'RE UNABLE TO PHOTOGRAPH OUR WEDDING?
Breathe easy — this scenario is very unlikely! In all my years as a wedding photographer, I’ve never missed a wedding. I take my commitment to your day extremely seriously. However, if an emergency did arise and I was unable to be there (knock on wood!), I have a plan. I’m connected with a wonderful network of professional photographers in London and around the UK whom I trust. I would arrange for another trusted professional with a similar shooting style to step in and cover your wedding.
Rest assured, you would be in good hands. I’d brief the photographer on everything important to you (timeline, must-have shots, etc.), so they can capture your day just as we planned. Your wedding is incredibly important to me, and I’d only send someone I trust to document it if I couldn’t be there myself.
WHAT’S YOUR PHOTOGRAPHY STYLE?
My style is documentary wedding photography – meaning I capture real, unscripted moments as they happen. Think of it as candid storytelling: I’ll blend into the background like a friendly ninja with a camera, snapping away at all the genuine laughter, tears, and crazy dance moves throughout the day. I won’t be bossing you around or staging elaborate poses because I want your photos to feel authentic to you and your celebration.
In short, my approach is super natural and easygoing. You enjoy your wedding day to the fullest, and I’ll be there to document it organically. The result? Images that tell the true story of your day. (If you’d like to see what that looks like, hop over to my portfolio gallery to get a feel for the candid, unposed moments I love to capture.)
WHAT ARE 'PRINTING AND SHARING RIGHTS EXACTLY'?
All of my packages include full printing and sharing rights for your final images. This means once I deliver your edited photos, you have the freedom to print them wherever and however you like, and to share them with your friends and family. Want to make an album or canvas print? Go for it. Prefer to order prints through my gallery or take the files to your own preferred print shop? That’s fine too.
There are no watermarks, and I won’t restrict you from posting your photos on social media. In fact, I hope you do share them and enjoy them widely! These are your memories, and you should be able to use your wedding photos however you wish (just please credit me if an image is published or used by a vendor, etc.). Essentially, you paid for the service and the images, so they’re yours to cherish and distribute to your heart’s content.
DO YOU NEED A MEAL ON THE DAY?
For shorter coverage (5 hours or less), I run on caffeine and good vibes — so while a meal isn’t mandatory, it’s always appreciated if offered (hey, a slice of wedding cake never hurts). If I’m photographing for more than 5 hours, then yes, I kindly ask for a vendor meal or some food to refuel. A hungry photographer isn’t as effective as a fed one, and I want to keep my energy up to give you 110%!
Don’t worry, I won’t disappear for long. I usually take a short break while you and your guests are dining (no one wants photos of themselves chewing, right?). I’ll be back to snapping away before you know it, re-energized and ready to capture the next big moment.
ARE YOU INSURED?
Definitely. As a professional UK wedding photographer, I carry full insurance coverage — that includes both public liability and professional indemnity insurance. Many venues require photographers to have this, and it’s an important part of keeping you and me protected. In plain terms, it means that if anything unexpected happens (equipment damage, someone trips over a camera bag, etc.), we’re covered.
You can rest easy knowing I’ve got all the necessary insurance in place. It’s one of those behind-the-scenes things you hopefully will never have to think about, but it’s there for peace of mind. Safety first, always!
DO YOU TRAVEL FOR WEDDINGS?
Absolutely! I’m based in East London, but I love a good adventure and will travel anywhere your love story takes us. Whether your wedding is in London, elsewhere in the UK, or an exotic destination abroad, count me in. I’ve shot weddings around the country, and I’m always excited to explore new venues and locations.
For weddings outside of the London area (or destination weddings overseas), there may be reasonable travel and accommodation fees to cover my costs. I’m totally transparent about those, and we can discuss all the details upfront. No destination is too far — have camera, will travel!
DO YOU USE A CONTRACT?
Yes — for every single wedding. We’ll both sign a clear contract before the big day. The contract outlines all the important details: dates, timelines, what’s included in your package, payment schedule, contingency plans, etc. It’s there to protect both you and me by making sure everything is agreed upon and understood. No fine-print tricks or anything scary, I promise!
I know contracts can sound intimidating, but mine is straightforward and written in plain English. I’ll walk you through it and answer any questions before you sign. This way, you can feel confident about what to expect, and we can focus on the fun stuff knowing the business side is all settled.
DO YOU HAVE BACKUP EQUIPMENT?
You bet I do! I always bring backup cameras, lenses, flashes, and plenty of memory cards to every wedding I shoot. Essentially, I have duplicates of all my key gear. So if (knock on wood) a camera malfunctions or a lens decides to misbehave, I can switch to a backup in seconds and keep right on shooting.
I’ve been doing this long enough to know that gear hiccups, though rare, can happen at the worst times. That’s why I come prepared for anything. My philosophy is “two is one, and one is none” when it comes to equipment. This means you don’t have to worry – I won’t miss a moment due to a tech failure. I’ve got it under control!
DO YOU PROVIDE RAW FILES?
I don’t provide RAW files because those are essentially the unfinished versions of your photos. Part of my job (and creative process) is editing and retouching each image to make it look its best and to ensure it reflects my artistic style. The RAW files straight out of the camera are like the rough drafts – you’re hiring me for the polished, beautiful finals! 😊
Rest assured, you will receive all the great photos from your wedding day, fully edited in high-resolution JPEG format. I never hold back any gems; if an image is fantastic, it will be edited and included in your gallery. The only shots I omit are the test shots, blinks, duplicates, or anything that doesn’t meet my quality standards. This way, you get the cream of the crop without any of the unnecessary fluff, ready to print, share, and enjoy.
